Stephen B. Chapman is Associate Professor of Old Testament in the Divinity School and Director of Graduate Studies of the Graduate Program in Religion at Duke University. He is the author of The Law and the Prophets: A Study in Old Testament Canon Formation (Mohr Siebeck, 2000) and Uncivil Religion: 1 Samuel as Christian Scripture (Eerdmans, forthcoming).
