Mara Brecht is Associate Professor of Theology at Loyola University Chicago. Her research addresses Christian faith formation in contexts of racial and religious diversity, pedagogy and the philosophy of Catholic education, as well as religious belonging in culturally hybrid contexts, most especially the context of Catholic higher education. Her forthcoming essay, “Charismatic Circularity: Lay Faculty, Practices of Transmission, and Possibilities for Renewal” (Journal of Catholic Higher Education) explores these themes. Mara previously served as Associate Professor of Theology and Religious Studies at St. Norbert College in De Pere, Wisconsin, and the Barbara and Patrick Keenan Visiting Chair in Religious Education on the Faculty of Theology at the University of St. Michael’s College at the University of Toronto.
