Karen Buenavista Hanna is Trinity College’s 2018-19 Ann Plato Postdoctoral Fellow in American Studies. She earned her PhD in Feminist Studies from the University of California, Santa Barbara. Hanna’s essays have ranged in topic from chronic illness, spirituality, transnational activism, to anti-racist pedagogy, and have appeared in Hyphen Magazine, Hypatia: A Journal of Feminist Philosophy, CUNY Forum, and the Pilipinx Radical Imagination Reader. Hanna is a former community organizer and public school and pre-GED teacher in New York City.
