Jared Sexton teaches African American studies and film and media studies at the University of California, Irvine, where he is also affiliated with the PhD Programs in Culture & Theory and Visual Studies. His most recent books are Black Masculinity and the Cinema of Policing and Black Men, Black Feminism: Lucifer’s Nocturne. His research has been supported by grants from the National Academies, the Ford Foundation, the Fulbright Program, the Andy Warhol Foundation, and the Clark Art Institute.
