Glen Doris studied for his PhD at the University of Aberdeen. His area of research is the relationship between Enlightenment philosophy and political and social reform in the late eighteenth and early nineteenth centuries, particularly focusing on the issue of the Slave Trade in Britain. He completed his doctoral thesis, “The Scottish Enlightenment and the Politics of Abolition” in 2011. Glen currently lives in Aberdeen, Scotland with his wife and two children.
