Adela Pinch

Adela Pinch received her BA from Yale University and her PhD from Cornell University. She is a specialist in eighteenth and nineteenth century British literature, with a particular focus on the relations between literature and philosophy. She is the author of two books, Strange Fits of Passion: Epistemologies of Emotion, Hume to Austen (Stanford University Press, 1996), and Thinking About Other People in Nineteenth Century British Writing (Cambridge University Press, 2010). She is currently completing a third monograph, Victorian Fiction and the Location of Experience.
