Yasemin Ural

Yasemin Ural earned her PhD in Sociology at the EHESS Paris in 2016. She teaches graduate and undergraduate courses on the anthropology of Islam, secularism and immigration in Europe. Her main fields of research include sociology of religion, postcolonial theories, Islam in Europe, funerary practices, sociology of death and transnationalism, affect theory. She is currently working as a postdoctoral fellow for the Project Affective Societies: Dynamiken des Zusammenlebens in bewegten Welten at the Freien Universität Berlin.
