Steven Pieragastini
Steven Pieragastini is a Visiting Assistant Professor of History at Boston College. He received his PhD in Comparative History from Brandeis University in February 2017, with a dissertation titled “Imperium inter Imperia: the Catholic Church in Shanghai, 1842-1957.” In addition to his book manuscript, he has published on the history of Zhendan University (Université l’Aurore), a Jesuit institution in Shanghai, and has conducted research on the Guangzhouwan French Leased Territory, the history of migration in Shanghai, ethnic minorities in China’s borderland regions, cross-border smuggling in the Chinese People’s Republic period, and the history of rail transport in East Asia.
