Ryan Duns, SJ
Ryan Duns  is an Associate Professor of systematic theology and Chair of the Theology Department at Marquette University. His research, he writes, “can roughly be described as being in the area of philosophical theology. I’m interested in the work of ‘Big Thinkers’ – Charles Taylor, William Desmond, Karl Rahner, Pierre Hadot, René Girard, Sarah Coakley, Iris Murdoch – and in rethinking the way we approach the study of theology. Rightly approached, theology is less a ‘way of thinking’ than a way of life.”  A native of Cleveland, OH, Ryan earned his Ph.D. in Systematic Theology from Boston College in 2018. He is the author of Theology of Horror: The Hidden Depths of Popular Films (2024) and co-author with Dr. Conor Kelly of Who Will You Become? An Ignatian Introduction to Catholic Theology.
