Ryan Duns, SJ
Ryan Duns, S.J – Ryan is an Assistant Professor of systematic theology at Marquette University. His research, he writes, “can roughly be described as being in the area of philosophical theology. I’m interested in the work of ‘Big Thinkers’ – Charles Taylor, William Desmond, Karl Rahner, Pierre Hadot, René Girard, Sarah Coakley, Iris Murdoch – and in rethinking the way we approach the study of theology. Rightly approached, theology is less a ‘way of thinking’ than a way of life.” A native of Cleveland, OH, Ryan earned his Ph.D. in Systematic Theology from Boston College in 2018. He is currently working on a project entitled “The Infernal Transcendent” about the theological motifs found in supernatural horror.
