Penny Edgell
Penny Edgell (Ph.D. University of Chicago, 1995) is a cultural sociologist who studies contemporary American religion and nonreligion. Author of Religion is Raced (NYU 2020), Religion and Family in a Changing Society (Princeton, 2005) and Congregations in Conflict (Cambridge, 1999), her work has also appeared in the American Sociological Review, Social Forces, Social Problems, and the Annual Review of Sociology, among other journals.
