Miriam Galston, Associate Professor at The George Washington University Law School, received her B.A. from Cornell University, Ph.D. from the University of Chicago, and J.D. from Yale Law School.  In addition to her book Politics and Excellence: The Political Philosophy of Alfarabi (Princeton University Press, 1990), she has written articles and essays in the areas of Greek and medieval Arabic and Jewish philosophy, tax policy and nonprofit organizations, legal theory, and political theory.
