Matthew Melton

J. Matthew Melton is Dean of the College of Arts and Sciences and Professor of Humanities and Communication Arts at Lee University with an MA in Journalism and a PhD in Rhetorical Criticism. Melton’s published work is mostly journalism; other writing has focused on introducing undergraduates to the liberal arts. As a college dean, his scholarly activity includes guest lectures, panel presentations, refereeing submissions for academic journals, and reviewing the brilliant scholarship of others. His research interests lie in the intersection of faith with persuasion, popular culture, and community life. He has taught a course on the works of C.S. Lewis for many years.
