Leonard McKinnis

Leonard McKinnis currently provides instruction in Christian Theology and African-American Religious History at DePaul University in Chicago as well as Lewis University in Romeoville, IL. His research interests include Patristic Theology, Christian Thought, and Liberation Theologies and regularly teaches courses that allow for theological bridge building between Historical and Systematic Theology and the African-American religious tradition. Leonard is currently working on his first book project, which explores the evolution of the Black Coptic Church as an instance of a practical liberation theology. McKinnis earned his PhD in Constructive Theology at Loyola University Chicago and his Master of Theological Studies at Harvard Divinity School.
