Laurie Shrage

Laurie J. Shrage is a Professor of Philosophy at Florida International University with research interests in moral and political philosophy, feminist theory, and American philosophy.  She has written numerous books and articles on feminist theory, sexual ethics, and public policy.  Her books include Philosophizing about Sex (co-authored with Scott Stewart, (2015)), Abortion and Social Responsibility: Depolarizing the Debate (2003), You’ve Changed: Sex Reassignment and Personal Identity (2009), and Moral Dilemmas of Feminism: Prostitution, Adultery, and Abortion (1994).  Shrage has had fellowships at the Edmond J. Safra Center for Ethics at Harvard University and at the Princeton University Center for Human Values, she is a past editor of the journal Hypatia, and she currently serves as a member of the Executive Committee of the Eastern Division of the American Philosophical Association.
