John Oliver is Director of Pastoral Services at Duke University Medical Center.  Prior to that he was the Chief of Chaplain Service at the Durham Veterans Affairs Medical Center and is a Certified Clinical Pastoral Education Supervisor at the Association for Clinical Pastoral Education. In 2004 Dr. Oliver authored the Spirital Care section for the “Clinical Practice Guideline for the Management of Post-Traumatic Stress” Department of Veterans Affairs & Department of Defense. In 2005 the Department of Veterans Affairs awarded him the Secretary’s Award for Excellence in Chaplaincy
