James Hatley is the author of Suffering Witness: The Quandary of Responsibility after the Irreparable, as well as coeditor of a volume of essays titled Facing Nature: Levinas and Environmental Thought. He currently teaches courses in the eco-humanities as a member of the Department of Environmental Studies at Salisbury University in Maryland.
