Hannah Markley
Hannah Markley is a fellow at the Bill and Carol Fox Center for Humanistic Inquiry at Emory University where she is completing her dissertation, “Wasting Romanticism: Eating, Mourning, and Survival in Mary Shelley, Thomas De Quincey, and Emily Brontë.” The project considers acts of eating that not only fail to nourish the body, but systematically waste and destroy it. In addition to her work on these figures of wasting, she has published articles on Jacques Derrida, Thomas De Quincey, and Samuel Taylor Coleridge.
