Grant Kaplan

Grant Kaplan is professor of constructive and historical theology in the Department of Theological Studies at Saint Louis University. In addition to his work on mimetic theory, Kaplan conducts research in nineteenth-century theology, especially German Catholicism. His is the author of Answering the Enlightenment: The Catholic Recovery of Historical Revelation (2006) and editor and translator of Faithfully Seeking Understanding: The Selected Writings of Johannes Kuhn. He is currently finishing a book on faith and reason (exp. 2019), and is the co-editor, with Kevin Vander Schel, of the first volume (1781–1848) of the Oxford History of German Theology (exp. 2022). He resides in the Tower Grove neighborhood of Saint Louis with his wife and three children.
