Carly Knight
Carly Knight is an Assistant Professor of Sociology at New York University. Prior to NYU, she completed her PhD at Harvard. Dr. Knight works on topics in economic sociology, cultural sociology, and social theory with particular interests in language and moral discourse. She is currently working on one large-scale project on the history of corporate personhood and the use of metaphor in legitimating corporate capitalism. She has several additional projects that use computational text analysis to investigate the cultural schemas that corporations and individuals used to make sense of market transitions. Recently, she has developed an interest in the sociology of finance and risk.
