Annie Selak
Annie Selak serves as Associate Director of the Women’s Center at Georgetown University. As a feminist theologian and Roman Catholic ecclesiologist, she writes on topics where the lived experience of the church diverges from theology, such as the sex abuse crisis, trauma & liturgy, and sexual assault on college campuses. She earned her doctorate in systematic theology from Boston College. Her dissertation, “Toward an Ecclesial Vision in the Shadow of Wounds” examined racism and sexism in the church in the United States in conversation with Rahner’s ecclesiology and contemporary trauma theory. Annie has a background in ministry, earning her M.Div from the Jesuit School of Theology at Berkeley and ministering at high schools and colleges.
