Andrew Cutrone

Andrew Cutrone is a PhD student in sociology and an affiliate of the Rapoport Center for Human Rights and Justice at the University of Texas – Austin. Andrew’s work concerns black social theory and abolition politics. Andrew’s writing takes up the question of what political, social and ethical modes exist—or could exist, or ought to exist—to refuse the subjective parameters of anti-black ontologies. Substantively, Andrew studies, via archival documents, instances of coalition between fugitive enslaved people and those who aided in their escape. Andrew likes reading and thinking with scholars and writers across black studies, feminist theory, trans studies, and legal theory.
