Andreas Bandak is Associate Professor in the Department for Cross-Cultural and Regional Studies at the University of Copenhagen. His research focuses on Christian minorities in Syria and the themes of prayer, exemplarity, and the stakes of co-existence. He has co-edited several books including Politics of Worship in the Contemporary Middle East (Brill, 2013) and Ethnographies of Waiting (Bloomsbury, 2018) as well as several special issues including journals such as Religion, Ethnos, and History and Anthropology.
