Todd Walatka is Associate Teaching Professor in Theology at the University of Notre Dame, where he also currently serves as the Director of the Master of Divinity Program. He specializes in contemporary Catholic systematic theology, with publications exploring the reception of Vatican II, Latin American liberation theology, and the work of Hans Urs von Balthasar. He is currently editing a book on Oscar Romero and Catholic Social teaching and regularly teaches graduate courses focused on Romero’s life and writings. His book, Von Balthasar and the Option for the Poor: Theodramatics in the Light of Liberation Theology, was published by CUA Press in 2017.
