C. Robert Mesle

C. Robert Mesle is the author of Process Relational Philosophy: An Introduction to Alfred North Whitehead, (Templeton Press, 2008) and Process Theology: A Basic Introduction, (Chalice Press, 1993). His recent essays include his keynote address, “Relational Power, Personhood, and Community,” Organizational Routines: How They Are Created, Maintained, and Change, Papers from the Sixth International Symposium on Process Organization Studies, Oxford University Press, 2016, “Whitehead’s Process Relational Philosophy,” in Sage Handbook Of Process Organization Studies, (U.K.) with Mark Dibbens, Edited by Langley and Tsoukas, 2016. In May of 2016 Bob gave a keynote address, “Relational Power, Personhood, and Leadership,” at the International Symposium on Interdisciplinary Perspectives on Leadership, Isle of Rhodes, Greece. Dr. Mesle has worked extensively in China with the Institute for the Postmodern Development of China, giving keynote addresses and teaching classes at many universities, on applications of Whitehead’s process relational philosophy.  On Dec. 3, 2016 he gave the keynote address, “Education for Compassionate Wisdom,” at a Symposium on “The Future of Education,” Jiangxi University, Nanchang, China.  He is Professor Emeritus of Philosophy & Religion at Graceland University. He and his wife, Prof. Emeritus Barbara Hiles Mesle, are retired and live in Chicago.
