Reinhard G. Mueller, PhD, MA, is the co-founder and executive director of the Foundation for Philosophical Orientation. He studied philosophy, English, German, history, and pedagogy in both Germany and the United States, earning his PhD in Comparative Literature from the University of Texas at Austin in 2019. His work focuses on the philosophy of orientation, the interplay between philosophy and literature, and philosophies of the art of living. He has published on figures such as Friedrich Nietzsche, Gotthold Ephraim Lessing, and George Bernard Shaw, as well as on topics including decision-making, the COVID-19 pandemic, and the art of living. He is also the translator of Werner Stegmaier’s What is Orientation? A Philosophical Investigation (De Gruyter, 2019), the foundational work in the philosophy of orientation.
