Paulo Ravecca is Associate Professor of Political Science and Global Development Studies at Saint Mary’s University. He holds a PhD in Political Science from York University and previously taught at Universidad de la República in Uruguay. His interdisciplinary research draws on Marxism, psychoanalysis, poststructuralism, and post- and decolonial theory to examine the relationships among knowledge, power, subjectivity, narrative, and democracy. Ravecca is the author of The Politics of Political Science: Re-Writing Latin American Experiences, a critical study of the discipline of political science and its relationship to power and liberal democracy in Latin America. His other research interests include far-right politics, neoliberalism, memory and human rights, narrative approaches to scholarship, and the circulation of Global South theory. Ravecca is editor of the Journal of Narrative Politics and has held leadership roles in both the International Political Science Association and the Latin American Studies Association.
