Ernesto Valiente was born in Santa Ana, El Salvador.  Prior to receiving a Ph.D. from the University of Notre Dame, he earned a BA in Economics from Tulane University, and a Th.M. and an M.Div. from Weston Jesuit School of Theology. He is currently an Associate Professor of Systematic Theology at the Boston College Clough School of Theology and Ministry.
