Elaine Nogueira-Godsey is an Assistant Professor of Religion, Society, and Ecofeminism at Drew University. A Latina scholar and educator, her work is situated at the intersection of religious studies, political ecology, social ethics, and critical pedagogy. With a transdisciplinary approach, she engages decolonial thinking, ecofeminist study of religion, and critical theories of race, gender, and sexuality. Her research and teaching advance decolonial ecofeminism praxis by centering perspectives from the Global South and drawing upon ecofeminist liberation theology. She is currently working on her book, “Decolonial Ecofeminism and the Decological Path Forward.” She serves as a board member of the International Society for the Study of Religion, Nature and Culture and is on the editorial Advisory Board of the academic journals Worldviews: Global Religions, Culture, and Ecology, Journal for the Study of Religion, Nature, and Culture, and Journal for the Study of Religion. She is co-chair of the Latina/o Religion, Society, and Culture Unit at the American Academy of Religion.
