Anne M. Carpenter is an Assistant Professor of Catholic theology at Saint Mary’s College of California. Her recent book, Theo-Poetics: Hans Urs von Balthasar and the Risk of Art and Being, discusses Balthasar’s combination of symbolic and philosophical modes of thought through Christology. She has also written essays on liturgy, Benedictine monasticism, continental philosophy, and Trinitarian theology. Her focus is theological aesthetics.
