Allison Curseen is a scholar of African American and 19th-century American literature and culture at Boston College whose research focuses on the poetics of bodies-in-motion, slavery, and  performances of childishness.  Her current book project, Minor Moves, explores the resistant poetics and fugitive performances mobilized in and through antebellum black writers’ depictions of black children’s physical movements.  Professor Curseen’s work can be found in American Literature and Theater Survey.
